The Minister of Education, Chief (Dr.) Maruf Olatunji Alausa, has unveiled the Electronic Content Management (ECM) System, a key step in the Federal Ministry of Education’s drive toward full digital transformation.

The launch, held in Abuja, was attended by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack; the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan; and several directors from the ministry.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Alausa described the ECM system as a “bold and transformative move” aimed at improving accountability, transparency, and service delivery across the education sector. He explained that the system would help eliminate duplication of records, reduce administrative errors, and ensure faster and more secure document management.

The minister directed the ICT Department to take charge of the system’s full implementation and called for a solar-powered backup to guarantee uninterrupted operation. He added that the project aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for digital governance.

In her remarks, Mrs. Walson-Jack praised the ministry’s leadership, saying the new system serves as a model for other ministries and agencies as the federal civil service works toward the December 31, 2025, digitalization deadline under Pillar 5 of the Federal Civil Service Strategic Plan (2021–2025).

Permanent Secretary Abel Enitan also commended the successful rollout, describing it as evidence of the ministry’s institutional readiness. “We are two months ahead of the national schedule,” he said.

The system was officially activated in a symbolic “Go-Live” ceremony performed by Dr. Sam Nwosu, the project consultant.
